ArtCall Diary - Entry 10/11/2000
The Coffee Cup Crew
a special report by Katkitty

Art call has come to the place of its roots, Minnesota, to attend to various needs. We will spare you the photos of a 20 cubic yard dumpster getting filled with debris from the Webbittown research house. Those skeletal fingers in the painting below (Suzanne Sbarge) make KatKitty think of the Cadmium, Telurium, Americium, DDT, Malathion, and other toxics still in the building.

Yes, Red Ed is still in art action. In Minnesota, there is still hope, that a furry box with nipples and electrical connections can represent comfort or unsatisfying techno-nurturance. We like our river, too. See the Mississippi, there in the floor tiles? katkitty thinks this installation (Timothy Dooley) transposed to the EVil art scene, would begin to include, oh, blood, and a bear trap or two.
One of the reasons Art Call is out of town is to finish a small R&D grant for Forecast for the puclic arts in Minnesota. We are gearing up to deliver stock market quotations on coffee cups. Below, Red Ed is sending the pitch to an audience of about ten other artists.

And the delivery. Each recipient is asked to diseminate their 10 cups to likely places, and see what happens. Art call will give a big reward to anyone who finds one of these cups!
