ArtCall Diary Archives
Doing what East Villagers do best, trying to get famous.

ArtCall - The Webbittown Research Department
The final move to NYC is really happening. On a larger scale, Katkitty is finding ways to visualize the market as a dynamic, undulating surface. Perhaps there is synergy to be found between art, membrane biochemistry, and the stock market.

ArtCall  - The Coffee Cup Crew
ArtCall pours a big cup for art's sake. Katkitty moves to NYC.

Jottings abound on the Jottings section itself, and Little Margie's packages finally arrive.

ArtCall - From The Idea Hamster
Katkitty wanted to write an art call diary, so we let her. Watch out! She is a bit of an Idea Hamster.

ArtCal - Rocked and Rolled
A-list models put the ArtCall staff into eye candy heaven, as we continue to cover the Soho art scene.

ArtCall - Cat & Mouse
Sometimes you can't help but to dodge the question.

The band in action, Lama Farm at Downtime (ex-psychotica members)

ArtCall - 34% Out - 8%  In
The fickle of fate - it was bad, but not as bad as it could have been and there was a remedy to whatever it had dealt us.

ArtCall - 28% Out - 5% In
Who do voodoo better than you do? A bloody finger waves of a virtual big bloody arty success.

ArtCall -  Pitching Elevators
However, this pitch is going to Kansas, where there are real elevators that hold grain. So what is being done is pitching elevators. Plus AbcNoRio's 20th anniversary and Cook Gecko Cook.

ArtCall - Redesigning the Redesign
:We were glad that headquarters would not be ransomed anymore and the the ArtCall itself could now safely be conducted. We now have to see  how the story unfolds so that all of the art properly gets processed into shares.

ArtCall - Approaching Critical Mass
John tries to unravel the situation as he was not in the East Village or New York at the time of the incident.

ArtCall - Down The Toilet
Streaming Web Phone was what was launched that fine evening. You can now access the ArtCall Diary Jottings section on the Wireless Web.

ArtCall - June 30th or Bust!
Who's is this?... We wasted not even a 1/10th of a second and said Mine!'. Someone had thrown their convention bag away.  We finally had our bag!

ArtCall -  Streaming Bag Hunt 2000
We searched all day for the elusive Conference Kit. We at the ArtCall think Mr. John Sculley would be a great candidate for share redesigner.

ArtCall - Tasty Performance Pudding
"I want my... I want my... I want my MTV," moaned Dire Straights from the radio. ArtCall however, sings a different tune, "We want our... we want our...  own streaming video."

ArtCall - Hangin' on the Tele-Phone
"Hangin' on the tele-phone....I was...hangin' on the tele-phone," crooned Debbie Harry in the background.

ArtCall - Anna "La Scary"
Sirens everywhere and traffic at a standstill as we continued east on Delancey. Something was going on, but we couldn't see the cause of the trouble until we hit Orchard Street. There was a guy on the edge of  the corner building at Delancey and Ludlow and he was threatening to jump!

ArtCall - KatKitty's 3D Camera Cabaret
In this installment she tells us that, "Alvin is dead and I have lost and gained 112 pounds". We helped clean up the stage and then dashed off to the Chelsea Hotel to enjoy our $250 a night bed with KatKitty aka Bobbi, Booby, and Brains.

ArtCall - Here at ArtCall Island
The days were becoming a blur as not having a car took its' toll. It felt like we were marooned on Gilligan's Island without Mary Anne or like sitting on 'the throne' and getting out a monster dump.

ArtCall - Leased at Last!
Security seemed to appear from nowhere as we looked at the construction pit and brick wall art pieces. We were tailed until we finally entered the building (maybe they thought we were going to piss on the wall).

ArtCall - Deal Aware
We were definitely fashionably late. Sandra, the branch manager took an hour and a half to say no to us. We sat down at the empty table and got tossed by the management.

ArtCall - Romeing Around Rush-ya
It seemed like a tribute to the long running thread on "The Cypherpunk Mailing List", there was much noise but Bokov had the signal and he took me off to Mimi Ferzt for a Russian art exhibit at the 114 Prince Street location. "This is great art!" Bokov exclaimed on the way to the show.

ArtCall - Indelible Memories
We were in as press at the Tattoo Convention as promised. Now tattoos are a fun kind of artistic diversion...

ArtCall - Deep Into Deepdale
We took off to 248 1/2 Broome, home of the Deepdale Gallery for a very late 8-12 opening. There was already an eclectic crew in attendance for this Morrie Cramer show that best could be described as 'constructive destructivism'.

ArtCall - Content Technology Branding
Stux Gallery specializes in 'provocative art presentation'. We grabbed orange juice and cocktails from the bar and the some of the free passes for the SPA after-party...

ArtCall -  UnReal Estate
As we do our bit for culturalizaton and the search for 200 squares, it was off to see Baron Von Blumenzak performing as 'Zero Boy', at the Philip Morris Museum, to see his latest performance piece. His pieces 'The Mayor's Croquet Party and Smoking Caterpillar' brought out the best of East Village anti-humor with notable quotes like "What are you, Bill Clinton or something? Don't you inhale?"

ArtCall - Missing Ingredients
The foundation of this story could best be characterized as 'pure Peter Missing', for many ingredients for a truly bang up story got dumped upside down just like the Missing Foundation upside down cocktail glass.

ArtCall - On the Prowl

ArtCall - May Day and May Tag
It was a quiet Sunday Nite out in VillageLand... Heidi Follin of Follin Gallery, and Paul Kostabi of PoshBoy Records East and Kostabi World, read the writing on the wall.

ArtCall - Crime of the Scene
Sometimes they just ain't where they're supposed to be. It then becomes candy store time -- Ray of Ray's News, and Red of the B&R Smoke Shop are two old village hands that fill the bill.
